The Role of Family Planning and Teen Pregnancy Prevention Services in Maternal Mortality and Morbidity Prevention

This webinar will explore the “retrofit, reform, and reimagine” framework as a foundation for discussing maternal morbidity and mortality in the U.S. The webinar will feature Monica McLemore, Ph.D., MPH, RN, FAAN, Associate Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. McLemore will describe the historic role of family planning and teen pregnancy prevention services, and suggest reforms to address maternal morbidity and mortality. Dr. McLemore will provide examples of retrofitting existing services to address maternal morbidity and mortality and a road map to programmatic structures that reimagine family planning from the lens of reproductive justice.
