Providers/Nurses: The information in the above 2-page document outlines treatment of pregnant and postpartum women presenting to the Emergency Room/Department with hypertension. The information is taken from pages 19-20 of the full MNPQC Hypertension in Pregnacy Therapy Care Process Model posted below. For additional details and treatment information, please review the full toolkit.

Providers/Nurses: The toolkit above, the MNPQC Hypertension in Pregnancy Therapy Care Process Model, was created to help you better diagnose, treat, and educate your patients on hypertension in pregnancy and the postpartum period. Please share these materials, bookmark the page, and check back for the most up-to-date information.

Patients & Family Members: We have gathered the reliable education resources above for your use. Please share any health concerns with your provider(s) and seek treatment promptly for any signs/symptoms of hypertension.

Blue Band Project
Blue Band Project

The Blue Band Project is an effort to alert health care providers about a patient's risk for preeclampsia. Patients who are at risk will wear a blue band during pregnancy and after delivery of their baby. If you have been asked to wear a blue band, keep it on until your provider takes it off or tells you to take it off.  It is important to let healthcare providers know if you are pregnant or have recently been pregnant.

Many complications of preeclampsia can be prevented. MNPQC is working to raise awareness of preeclampsia in our communities by using blue medical alert bands.
