Minnesota Perinatal Organization (MPO) was founded in 1974 as a multidisciplinary association of individuals and organizations dedicated to improving perinatal health. We provide up-to-date information on perinatal care practices, services, and technological advancements and a great opportunity to network with professionals from the region. MPO co-founded the Minnesota Perinatal Quality Collaborative (MNPQC) in conjunction with the Minnesota Department of Health in 2018.The Minnesota Perinatal Quality Collaborative (MNPQC) is a network of organizations, medical providers, content experts, and community voices led by Minnesota Perinatal Organization (MPO) with support from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH). We seek to improve perinatal and infant health outcomes with an emphasis on improving health equity for all birthing people.

Board Chair Elect Job Description
- Develop and support 5-year strategic goals
- Create and maintain relationships with partner organizations and other community and industry leaders
- Chair the board meetings (in the absence of the Board Chair)
- Assist in recruiting board members and other individuals for projects/work to support the mission of organization (see board member responsibilities)

- Support the MNPQC Chair by providing content expertise and oversight to the Initiative teams
- Provide medical oversight for Quality Improvement Initiatives development, implementation, and execution as directed by the MNPQC Chair
- Monitor QI Initiatives for compliance with project protocols with the MNPQC Program Advisory Committee
- Review statewide initiatives balancing measure data, reports of local QI team experience, and emerging literature for potential safety concerns on an on-going basis
